Check out our Interactive RentalInstructional Service or better known as theIRIS program. IRIS was developed a decade ago to promote a "hands on" technical experience by students in the sound, lighting, video and production industries. The program is usually implemented during a school production or musical but can be just as effective for other events such as concerts or commencement day.
The idea is to get more students involved in school events and have them learn the basics of live behind the scenes activities in a production. The cast and production call usually consist of Stage Manager, Stage Crew, Lighting and Assistant Lighting Directors, Audio and Assistant Audio Technicians, Followspot Operators, Back Stage Audio Technician, Set Up and Strike Crew and other important production positions.
Our technicians assist and instruct with the set up and operation of the equipment and are present during all rehearsals. We will teach each student the basics in lighting, sound, video or production. Students are at the helm during the rehearsals as well as all the final performances. We suggest using 2 student from different grades for each position so the knowledge can be passed on to the following year.
(Above ^) Fairfield Country Day School's musical production. This photo was taken before the gymnasium was renovated and turned into an auditorium and a new gym was added. We installed a 50ft. truss across the front of the stage to serve as a fly point for sound and lighting equipment as well as a temporary proscenium. We also set up 12ft. pipe and drape curtains, left and right for dressing rooms and orchestra location.
Quinnipiac University (Right>) was host for a body building championship. We installed a stage, curtains, sound and lighting equipment.
